World Congress on Safety and Health at Work

IMPORTANT NEWS ABOUT POSTPONEMENT OF XXII WORLD CONGRESS ON SAFETY AND HEALTH AT WORK TO SEPTEMBER 19-22, 2023

In light of public health guidance regarding COVID-19, the International Organizing Committee (IOC) has taken the difficult decision to postpone the XXII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work to September 19 – 22, 2021. The good news is that the XXII World Congress will still take place at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre in the heart of downtown Toronto, Canada exploring the Congress theme, Prevention in the Connected Age: Global solutions to achieve safe and healthy work for all. The Congress is also being expanded to include virtual options, including live streaming to facilitate further global engagement.

Given the impact of COVID-19 on workplaces around the world, the IOC has also decided to convene a virtual meeting of global thought leaders focused on COVID-19 on October 5, 2020. More information about this meeting and how to participate will be posted to the Congress website in the coming weeks.

We realize many of you have already invested a great deal of time and effort contributing to the Congress. The IOC thanks you for your continued support. This work is very valuable and will be carried forward to 2021.

If you have already registered for the Congress, don’t worry, your registration will be automatically transferred to 2021. You will receive formal notification of this transfer in September 2020. If you have already made a hotel room reservation within the official block of the Congress partner hotels which include the InterContinental, Fairmont Royal York, Sheraton Centre and the Chelsea Hotel, please be advised that we are working with these hotels to confirm room availability and rates for 2021. More information will be available on our website in the coming weeks.

If you have any additional questions regarding registration, travel or accommodations, please visit our website FAQs or contact us at To stay in touch and hear about new information as it’s released, sign up for email updates and follow @WorldCongressCA on social media.
