Welcome to the XXII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work 2020: Global Forum for Prevention. The Congress opens its doors to the world every three years. This time, it is Canada’s turn to welcome the global prevention community to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre on October 4-7, 2020. We invite you to join this international gathering of global prevention leaders.
The World Congress is a crucial global forum for the exchange of information and opinion by experts in safety and health, representatives of companies and employees, decision-makers from government and public authorities, social partners, and anyone active in the area of occupational safety and health.
The International Labour Organization (ILO) was founded in 1919. It became the first specialized agency of the United Nations in 1946 and has 187 member States. The ILO is committed to promoting human and labour rights, pursuant of its founding principle that social justice is essential to universal and lasting peace.
The International Social Security Association (ISSA) is the principal international institution bringing together social security agencies and organisations. The ISSA’s aim is to promote dynamic social security as the social dimension in a globalising world by supporting excellence in social security administration. Prevention has been on the ISSA’s agenda since its creation in 1927.
The Institute for Work & Health (IWH) is a Canadian leader in work injury and disability prevention research. IWH conducts and shares actionable research to promote, protect and improve the health and safety of working people. The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health & Safety (CCOHS) is Canada's national resource for the advancement of workplace health and safety.
It's Canada's turn to welcome the global prevention community in Toronto! In 2020 the XXII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work will be hosted in Toronto by the Institute for Work & Health (IWH) and The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health & Safety (CCOHS).
